Hi,

My name is Eric with High Country Carpet. I had an office building flood in Evergreen Colorado 7-27-08. I started drying the carpet, ceiling and walls about 3:30 P.M. Water was draining down through the ceiling, it was really wet. It was dry by 1:00 P.M. 7-28-08, the next day. It took about 21 1/2 hours to dry 1500 sq ft of structure, contents and carpeting. I was amazed. I am drying two other areas in the same building where they have servers and computers and those areas I am drying by conventional methods. These areas are sill drying. They were nowhere near as wet and those areas will probably take 1-2 more days more to dry those areas. The company that does the maintenance showed up about 9:00A.M. 7-28-08, this was 4 hours before I officially called this area dry. They just couldn’t believe it was dry, but it was. The lead tech which does the restoration side of their business said it would of taken us 3-4 days to dry by conventional drying methods. He said we have to get one of these systems, it is just unbelievable. I have been in the restoration business for about 27 years and have never been able to dry  a structure, contents and carpeting this fast. The system is the best thing to come to the restoration business since introduction of air movers. Remember I did not use any dehumidification in the heat drying areas.

Thank you,

Eric

My name is Shane with Color Tech Restoration I just finished a home flood in Broomfield Colorado, 3-20-09 thru 3-22-09. A outside water facet broke and flooded the whole basement. The walls, ceiling and carpet were very wet. We started drying

3-20-09 and by 3-22-09 all the walls, ceiling and carpet were dry. We did not float the carpet (Top Down Drying) and the carpet and padding dried fast. The home owner was amazed it dried so fast. She though the drywall and carpet would need to be replaced. Now with a dryout done so fast I can talk to the adjuster and let him know how money we cave save him in the future from secondary damage.

Color Tech Restoration, 3-22-09

My name is Shane with Color Tech Restoration I just finished a home flood in Morrison Colorado, 5-29-09 thru 6-1-09. The water was a result of lots of rain water that came in through the foundation. We dried two rooms, one conventional and the other using heat. In the heat dried room the walls, ceiling, contents and carpet were very wet. We put tabs under the furniture and dried everything in place in the heat dried area. We did not float the carpet (Top Down Drying) in the heat drying area. We started drying 5-29-09 and by 5-31-09 all the walls, ceiling, contents and carpet were dry in the heat drying area. The heat dried room smelled horrible. There was cat odor as well as a extreme musty odor. When we were done there was no odor, in fact the resident commented on the fact there was no odor. Using heat the bacteria is killed thus eliminating the odors. The second room we dried by conventional methods and this took an extra day to dry. This room was mostly carpet drying and a small area on one wall needed dried. We did float the carpet in the room. We dried using conventional drying and this area was dry by 6-1-09.  We used 8 air movers, ELE 6400 and the VapairVent Ventilation System. 2 air movers for the area dried by conventional methods and the remaining equipment was used in the heat dried area.

AboutHeat Drying

I have dried several jobs using the ELE 6400. Because the ELE is NEC ® compliant (National Electrical Code) I have don’t have problems with breakers blowing. Most of my dryouts I keep the temperature in the drying area (Chamber) at between 110F and 130F. I get these temperatures using 2 of the 4 circuits. Each circuit gives me about a 25 degree temperature rise. I have only used circuit 3 once at that was because the room temperature was much lower than normal. I use the ELE on most of my jobs because of how fast I can get a dryout done and this gets my customers back to normal that much faster. My customers really like how quick I can get them back to normal. The ELE has totally changed how I do most dryouts. When I use the ELE with the VapairVent Ventilation System this has virtually eliminated the need for dehumidifiers period.

Thank you,

Shane
